Who Changed Rock 'n Roll Music? The Legendary Bands or Artists Who Shaped the ROCK Sound
To celebrate 2021 our staff created a list of Rock legends of bands/artists who either invented a different sound, or reinvented Rock music along the way. Our criteria was this: Very original and still popular today.
You know what it feels like when you go to a show or hear it online. A great band or artist will make the hair on your skin stand up because it is original and gets to your emotions. The lead singer will have some style you can't take your eyes off of. You feel entranced listening to how they are singing it. These bands broke with convention and said, “To hell with it, here we are, we wrote this with sweat and soul, this is our Rock ‘n Roll!!” These people and bands got to the masses (many of them with no social networks at all).
We are not talking about Hip Hop or EM, or any other style. This pertains to Rock ‘n Roll music only.
When you look this list over ask yourself, “What was new and different?” Don’t be afraid to create that. We call on you to reduce the reverb, remove the fake auto-tune, get rid of those unison shout choruses (cool the first time, only one time ages ago, yet now it just sounds like a car commercial) and dig into creative, original ideas. Also, songs that go on forever is a mixed bag. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is boring.
As for the business people in music, they should be asking you how you envision your music and not try to change your entire style. If it got them to approach you, don't change up your soul.
We are excited about hearing new Music, promoting or finding new bands, and promoting bands who are already on the rise. Please check out the ones we have found, and see about our promotional tool, Bandivious.com. We can't wait to hear what you invent. Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
